Pool screen enclosure cleaning, done at low pressure
“Richie has been keeping our pool and patio sparkling for years. Our pool is crystal clear and our patio is bright and clean…”
A screen cage in a shady, wet yard goes gray and green faster than anything else on the property. We wash the frame and the mesh at low pressure with a cleaner that kills the mildew, so the cage comes back clean instead of torn.
What is included
- Aluminum frame and screen mesh, soft washed
- Kick plates along the bottom
- A cleaner that kills the mildew, not just rinses it
- Torn or brittle panels pointed out before we start
A cage washed at low pressure
Before
AfterGreen down every beam and the mesh had gone gray. Frames and screens both, and the yard opened right up.
What a cage wash covers
The aluminum framing, the screen mesh and the kick plates along the bottom, and then the pool deck underneath, because everything that comes off the cage lands there. The mesh gets a soft wash, not a blast. A pressure washer held too close tears screen and pushes the spline out of the channel, and that turns a cleaning into a repair.
Why it has to be low pressure
Screen mesh is fiberglass. It takes a gentle rinse fine and it does not take a wand at full pressure. The cleaner does the work on the mildew and algae and the water just carries it away. That is also why a cage washed this way stays clean longer: the growth is killed, not just knocked loose for a few weeks.
How often a screen enclosure needs washing
About once a year for most cages out here. On the shady side of the house or under oaks the streaks come back sooner. If a panel is already torn we will point it out while we are there, and it makes sense to do the repair and the wash together, since new mesh next to gray framing looks worse than either one alone.

Questions we hear a lot
- How much does it cost to clean a pool screen enclosure?
- It depends on the size of the cage and how far gone it is. Quotes are free and you get the number before we start. Call or text (561) 252 8487.
- Can you pressure wash a pool screen enclosure?
- Yes, at low pressure. The frame and mesh get a soft wash with a cleaner that kills the mildew. Full pressure on screen mesh tears it and pops the spline out, which is why we never do it that way.
- Will washing damage my screens?
- Not at low pressure. The mesh gets a soft wash and the cleaner does the work. Panels that are already brittle or torn we point out before we start, not after.
- Can you wash the pool deck at the same time?
- Yes, and most people do, since the runoff from the cage ends up on the deck anyway.
